Life can be experienced as a great play — sometimes a comedy, sometimes a tragedy, sometimes an epic, sometimes a satire, but always a play. We can think of ourselves as the main character in our own story. Author Peggy Rubin brilliantly uses traditional theatre as a metaphor for living life more authentically and joyfully. To understand our lives as a sacred art form, Rubin traces the roots of theatre to ancient rituals that celebrated the eternal nature of the soul. She provides the tools to tap into the nine powers of sacred theatre so that our lives can resonate with our highest purpose, including The Power of Incarnation, The Power of Story, The Power of Place, The Power of Now, The Power of Expression, The Power of Point of View, The Power of Conflict, The Power of Audience, and The Power of Celebration. "Playing the play of life is a daring adventure," says Rubin. "It takes courage, focus, excitement, and intention to stop just letting our stories happen and instead enact them with verve and delight." Here she invites readers to take the stage of life and play their story for all it is worth.

In 'Relentless Love', he proposes that we can live lives of enchantment through the practice of relentless love. He inspires us to create a world based on our intention to love and our faith in life and contends that evolution is propelling us to do so. He defines evolution as 'events you do not like that converge to create a possibility you could not anticipate'. Dramatherapy is being increasingly practised in a range of therapeutic settings and is of growing interest to theatre practitioners and teachers. The Handbook of Dramatherapy brings together five authors who have considerable experience of clinical, artistic and educational work to provide an easy-to-read introduction to the major models of dramatherapy. The authors explain the differences between dramatherapy and psychodrama, discuss its relationship with theatre art, look at assessment and evaluation techniques, and argue the need for more appropriate methods of research for this increasingly popular form of therapeutic treatment. The Handbook of Dramatherapy provides a comprehensive basis for theory and practice and will be an invaluable resource for all students of dramatherapy and theatre.

Different symbolic traditions have different ways of describing the shift of awareness toward sacred events. While not conforming to familiar states of phenomenality, this shift of awareness corresponds to Turner's liminal phase, Artaud's metaphysical embodiment, Grotowski's “translumination,” Brook's “holy theater,” and Barba's “transcendent” theater—all of which are linked to the Advaitan taste of a void of conceptions. This book argues that, by allowing to come what Derrida calls the unsayable, the theater of Tom Stoppard, David Henry Hwang, Caryl Churchill, Sam Shepard, Derek Walcott and Girish Karnad induces characters and spectators to deconstruct habitual patterns of perception, attenuate the content of consciousness, and taste the void of conceptions. As the nine plays discussed in this book suggest, the internal observer lies behind all cultural constructs as a silent beyond-ness, and immanently within knowledge as its generative condition of unknowingness. The unsayable (and the language used to convey it) that Derrida finds in literature has clear affinities with the Brahman-Atman of Advaita Vedanta. Derridean deconstruction contains as a subtext the structure of consciousness that it both veils with the undecidable trappings of the mind and allows to come as an unsayable secret through a play of difference. Although Derrida views theater and the text as mutually deconstructing and claims that presence or unity “has always already begun to represent itself,” the six playwrights discussed here show that cultural performance indeed points through its universally ambiguous and symbolic types toward a trans-verbal, trans-cultural wholeness.

In life, everyone at some time or another will experience what is commonly referred to as problems. Moving Mountains is a manual of sorts to assist people in the removal of life's problems. This removal process occurs by first looking at some commonly held beliefs and ideas held by our society. Secondly this removal occurs by realizing that a shift in perception is needed. As the reader continues to read and walk through the journey laid out in the pages of the book the task of noticing and in time changing existing paradigms will become the number one mission. This mission allows the reader to realize that the mountains in life (problems, challenges, issues and traumas) are blessings that can be used as stepping stones to greater awareness and increase one's ability to live a sacred life. The book guides the reader through the process of personal transformation by challenging what is believed and what the reader feels is known with various ideas and concepts that the author has found over years of study to be of immeasurable value and use, so that the mountains can be moved just as Jesus the Christ said in Matthew 17:20, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
