It’s 1782 in New Mexico and slavers are operating ruthlessly throughout the colony. Apaches and Comanches battle with Spanish militias to protect their homelands. Governor Anza, at his wits’ end, commandeers the help of Nando, a naïve but wily young half-breed, embedding him in his network of spies. Fast-paced and true to the realities of the time, The King’s Lizard catapults the reader into the fierce and demanding life of colonial Santa Fe. Did you ever wish you could roam the American west in early days? See the land as it once was and experience life on a frontier that is gone forever? Pamela Christie, an award-winning author of the historic Southwest, has created a mystery series set in old Santa Fe when Spain has already occupied New Mexico for almost 200 years. In The King’s Lizard, the first of the Lizard Tales, the reader rides with Nando Aguilar, a young man with a light heart and a pleasingly competent hand. Lost between the culture of his Ute mother who is a slave, and his upper class Spanish father, Nando struggles to find himself, discovers love and gains stature as a member of Governor Anza’s spy network

Huxley's bleak future prophesized in Brave New World was a capitalist civilization which had been reconstituted through scientific and psychological engineering, a world in which people are genetically designed to be passive and useful to the ruling class. Satirical and disturbing, Brave New World is set some 600 years ahead, in "this year of stability, A.F. 632"--the A.F. standing for After Ford, meaning the godlike Henry Ford. "Community, Identity, Stability," is the motto. Reproduction is controlled through genetic engineering, and people are bred into a rigid class system. As they mature, they are conditioned to be happy with the roles that society has created for them. The rest of their lives are devoted to the pursuit of pleasure through sex, recreational sports, the getting and having of material possessions, and taking a drug called Soma. Concepts such as family, freedom, love, and culture are considered grotesque. Against this backdrop, a young man known as John the Savage is brought to London from the remote desert of New Mexico. What he sees in the new civilization a "brave new world" (quoting Shakespeare's The Tempest). However, ultimately, John challenges the basic premise of this society in an act that threatens and fascinates its citizens. Huxley uses his entire prowess to throw the idea of utopia into reverse, presenting us what is known as the "dystopian" novel. When Brave New World was written (1931), neither Hitler nor Stalin had risen to power. Huxley saw the enduring threat to society from the dark side of scientific and social progress, and mankind's increasing appetite for simple amusement. Brave New World is a work that indicts the idea of progress for progress sake and is backed up with force and reason.

Why is it that almost all the terrorism in the West is coming from the small minority of the population who are Muslims? Why are they doing this if, as politicians and clergy keep assuring us, Islam is a religion of peace? We are sure these questions are being asked in most homes. Your questions are answered in this book. The truth is that Islam is a religion of war, and the educated elite in the West have had proof of this for over 150 years. But since 9/11 they have been actively deceiving the rest of the population--because the elite dare not tackle the problem. Our journalists have totally failed in their function to challenge the correct the lies of politicians. So, the problem with Isla in the West has grown worse every year since the early 1990s. There is no sign that anything will be done to stop this until ordinary people take it upon themselves to understand Islam and expose the lies which paralyze the West's discussions of Islam. This book provides you with a revolutionary way to understand Islam: you can understand the Koran within minutes instead of months. You will have concrete evidence that any part of the Koran which appears peaceful has been cancelled by a later command to be violent. You will see Islam's hatred and contempt for non-Muslims laid bare. When teachers indoctrinate your children or force them to attend a mosque, use our book to shame these educators for their part in the deception. After reading this book you will understand the threat facing your children's future and you will have the knowledge to make politicians find some backbone. All over the world, history has shown that Islam offers two options: submit or die."--Back cover.
