This unique set of daily readings from bestselling author Simon Guillebaud encourages the reader to live the Christian life without compromise and without restraint; to live on full throttle and with utter abandonment to Christ. Simon Guillebaud has lived in Burundi since his early twenties. He takes unimaginable risks so much so that he didn't expect to live to the age of 30. He sees miraculous results time and again as he works tirelessly for the salvation, peace and prosperity of the country he loves and daily gives his life for. Burundi is a place where choices are vivid, stark and sometimes deadly. It is a front line state in a fragile democracy seeking to overcome a bloody past. The spiritual battle between the forces of light and the repressive power of the local witchdoctors is very real. It is in this context that Simon Guillebaud has learned the lessons he shares in this volume. Succinct and engaging, these daily reading cover a separate topic every day. The range is striking and profound as Simon shares the things he has learned through the council of the Holy Spirit. Those who engage with this unique devotional will be challenged and ultimately changed.

A highly challenging call to respond with our whole hearts to Christ. To follow our Saviour is not about being nice. It's about taking risks. Simon writes: 'There's a battle going on for our hearts. What I watch, what I listen to, what I spend my time and money on - all these erode my true sense of identify and worth as a child of God. Where is the vigilance, the discernment, the scrutiny? Our hearts are far too precious to treat with such lax indifference ... I want to play my part in turning the world upside down; I want to be fearless, bold, uncompromising and passionate in reaching out to the lost on behalf of the King of Kings; I never want to get over the grace of God.'

New York Times bestseller How do you hold on to hope when you don’t get the ending you asked for? When Katie Davis Majors moved to Uganda, accidentally founded a booming organization, and later became the mother of thirteen girls through the miracle of adoption, she determined to weave her life together with the people she desired to serve. But joy often gave way to sorrow as she invested her heart fully in walking alongside people in the grip of poverty, addiction, desperation, and disease. After unexpected tragedy shook her family, for the first time Katie began to wonder, Is God really good? Does He really love us? When she turned to Him with her questions, God spoke truth to her heart and drew her even deeper into relationship with Him. Daring to Hope is an invitation to cling to the God of the impossible—the God who whispers His love to us in the quiet, in the mundane, when our prayers are not answered the way we want or the miracle doesn’t come. It’s about a mother discovering the extraordinary strength it takes to be ordinary. It’s about choosing faith no matter the circumstance and about encountering God’s goodness in the least expected places. Though your heartaches and dreams may take a different shape, you will find your own questions echoed in these pages. You’ll be reminded of the gifts of joy in the midst of sorrow. And you’ll hear God’s whisper: Hold on to hope. I will meet you here.

The reader will discover life-transforming secrets, mind-blowing realities, and heart-changing revelations in such mysteries as the Face in the Waters, the Leper King, the Land of Gezarah, the Secret of the Third Prince, the House of Spirits, the Mystery of the Rains, How to Alter Your Past, the Second Scroll, the Similitude, the Mystery of the Eighth Day, and much more. The Book of Mysteries takes the readers on a journey of divine revelation through ancient Scriptures, the laws of Creation, the deep of God’s Word, the hidden streams of history, the most important keys of spiritual truth, end-time mysteries, and the secrets of life. The Book of Mysteries opens up with a traveler and his encounter with a man known only as “the teacher.” The teacher takes him an on odyssey through desert mountains, valleys, gardens and plains, encounters with nomadic tent dwellers, caverns and ancient ruins, chambers of scrolls and vessels, and more. The reader is taken along to partake in the journey and in all the teachings and revelations. The traveler keeps a journal in which he writes down each of the mysteries given to him by the teacher in his one-year odyssey—365 different mysteries—one for each day of the year. Thus, on top of everything else, The Book of Mysteries is also a daily devotional unlike any other. And each mystery contains a special mission for each day of the year, a mission that takes the revelation and applies it to reality for a life-changing journey.

i>From Adam to Noah-The Numbers Game," shows that the genealogy of Adam in Genesis 5 is a puzzle. Genesis 5 reports that people lived for over 900 years.Where are the clues that the genealogy of Genesis 5 is a puzzle? Here's the first: 1 56 years: Lamech's birth to Adam's death2 56 + 1 years: Lamech's birth to Enoch's disappearance 3 56 years: Lamech's birth to Seth's death Here's the second clue: 416 years: Lamech's death to Kenan's death 416 years: Lamech's birth to Mahalalel's death 416 years: Enosh's death to the birth of Noah's sons And the third clue: 1 84 years: Lamech's birth to Enosh's death 2 84 + 416 years: Jared's death to Noah's death 3 84 years: Enoch's birth to Lamech's birth A collection of real human ages would never display a pattern like this. Solving the puzzle reveals a fully functional, 2500+ year old calendar that is as accurate as our modern calendar. The extracted calendar is based on a 364-day year with a 369-day leap year and a 365-day year that occurs once every 33 years. The average length of a year for this 33-year calendar is 365.242424 days which is very near the length of the vernal equinox year of 365.242374 days on which our calendar is based. It is now clear that the Bible contains science. It's ancient science, but it's real science. The Bible writers were ancient scientists and the Bible is a repository of their work. If you're a scientist, engineer or technician and you've found it impossible to take the Bible seriously, now you can. Just as we were unable to recognize this calendar as a calendar, the science of the Bible has not been recognized as science because its' authors spoke in parables and riddles. This was a part of the Biblical culture. The book of Proverbs says that it will teach the reader how to understand the "words of the wise" which consist of proverbs, riddles and figures (puzzles). "Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging proverbs with great care." (Ecc 12:9 RSV) "My mouth shall speak wisdom; the meditation of my heart shall be understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will solve my riddle to the music of the lyre. (Psa 49:3-4 RSV) So when Jesus taught using parables and riddles he was following a tradition that was ancient when Solomon was king. This kind of riddle extends far beyond the genealogy of Genesis 5. Genesis 1 to 11 contains a collection of riddles woven into a single fabric. The riddles continue through the book of Revelation. Once we understand these riddles we discover that the Bible actually contains a consistent, workable philosophy that can actually explain the way the world works.

"We spend 50 to 75 percent of our waking hours and 60 to 90 percent of the years of our lives working. Yet many of us never invest even a fraction of that time exploring the vision that drives our lives and work. We've lost the framework in which it is understood that our lives and work are in relationship - in relationship to God through worship, to others through service, and to creation through stewardship. Our lives and work have largely been separated from their mission, and this ultimately stems from a loss of the biblical worldview. LifeWork lays out the thought background for each of us to establish a meaningful, integrated understanding of our life and work. Whatever our work or vocation, God calls each of us to a new way of living - fully in His presence. In this follow-up book to Discipling Nations, Darrow Miller helps us - that is, every Christian - to reconnect our lives and work, our LifeWork, with God's plan for individuals, communities, and nations. This is a carefully researched, down-to-earth, life-altering book that every Christian should read.Contains:True stories of people who have successfully integrated their faith and work Informative graphics and illustrations Excellent study of worldviews, culture, and biblical economics Indexes and helpful resources" -- Publisher description.
